Escape Room Night is a free experimental game. No payment, email address or account is required.
While your room is active
We save your nickname, room membership, puzzle answers, progress and shared notes so your group can play together. Other members of your room can see these. Room access lasts 3 hours. The room code is an invitation: share it only with your team.
Returning to a room
This browser stores a private return pass for your active room. It lets you reconnect without using another seat. Do not share the pass or use a public browser if you want to keep your room private. Clearing site data removes it. An expired pass no longer works.
Improving the game
Updated 8 October 2026. We group incoming visits as Google, Bing, YouTube, Patreon, other referrals or direct/unknown. A random visit reference is kept in this tab’s session storage for up to three hours and can link a room you create to that source. We do not collect search terms or the full referring address. These are visits and room memberships, not unique people.
In the game, we separately measure time when the tab is visible and focused, and the subset with an interaction in the previous minute. Background time is excluded. Short, bounded samples may undercount interrupted connections. We record stage entry, answer-check counts and completion without recording keys pressed or pointer movements. Optional exit reasons help us understand confusing clues. These summaries follow the 90-day retention period below. Authorized internal test rooms are excluded from player reports.
Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate page and performance information. It does not give us a named browsing history. You can continue playing if analytics requests are blocked or unavailable.
We retain basic session records—mission, player count, solved stages, hints and timing—to understand completion and difficulty. If you choose to send feedback, we save your two ratings, comment and current stage. Feedback is not shown publicly. Please do not include names, email addresses or other personal information in comments or shared notes.
Our application removes expired room data during maintenance. Session summaries and feedback are eligible for deletion after 90 days and are removed during subsequent maintenance. Short-lived hashed network identifiers help limit abusive requests. Hosting providers may also maintain their own operational logs. We do not use advertising trackers.
